The summer has flown and we are literally nineteen (19) days from the first day of the 2016-2017 school year. Much has happened at our school over the summer but there is still so much still to be done. Many of you have asked how you might help. With this in mind we have designated designated Sunday August 14, 2016 (10:00 AM until 4:00 PM) as our 1st Annual Hollis School Community Fall Fix-up and Cleanup.

Here are some of the many tasks we would like to address over the course of our day:
1. Paint the outside of the new student workshop, greenhouse classroom
2. Install spouting for a rain catch and protect our new student workshop, greenhouse classroom
3. Paint the kitchen
4. Paint the girls and boys bathrooms
5. Pull weeds – always those weeds
6. Fix up the playground:

a. add some new swings for pre-school
b. add an outdoor equipment storage cage to keep equipment accessible and secure7. Any other things you might see that need to be done – tighten loose screws, nail in loose boards – you name it, if you see it and think it needs to be done, add it to the list.

We will start at 10:00 AM and plan to work until 4:00 PM or when the tasks are done. We will have lemonade and hotdogs to feed our work crew. Attendees are welcome to bring a covered side dish to share if they would like.
Bring any tools you may have that you think may make the job(s) a bit easier.

Of course – if you want to help and there is a particular task you would like to do but you want to come on a different day, no worries, let us know as we sure would appreciate the help. Anyone who wants to lend a hand and make a difference is welcome.

On behalf of the Hollis School students and staff, thank you.
