Welcome to

Hollis Alaska

Founded in the 1890's Hollis is a non-profit community, located on the east side of Prince of Wales Island, 29 miles from Craig by road and 35 miles west of Ketchikan by water.

As the homeport of the Inter-Island Ferry Authority, Hollis is the gateway to Prince of Wales Island. The IFA provides daily service between Hollis and Ketchikan. For more information on schedules and rates, visit the IFA website.

The community is home to a small public school, a fire department with EMS services and a well stocked library. It also has a public boat dock, and a state of the art float plane dock for commercial air carriers. Just west of town you will find the Harris River day use area with restrooms, a covered picnic area with a stone fireplace and a foot trail that winds through the lush forest in parallel to the Harris River.

Lodging and other recreational services are available.
